Ian Bennitt
Manager Government Affairs
Ian Bennitt joined joined the Shipbuilders team in April 2007. Mr. Bennitt serves as the Manager of Government Affairs, focusing on commercial shipbuilding and repair markets, shipyard safety, environmental & energy, and labor issues . In this capacity, he maintains relationships and partnerships at both the Federal Agency and Congressional level.
Prior to joining SCA, Mr. Bennitt was the Editorial and Research Coordinator for the Environment, Technology and Regulatory Affairs Division of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. In that capacity, Mr. Bennitt worked closely on a variety of federal and state regulatory, energy, natural resource and environmental issues for the Chamber’s membership.
Mr. Bennitt earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science from Skidmore College. He will also be a candidate for MPA next year at American University.
